I just started a home building company in Alberta, Canada and am wondering if I need insurance to protect myself?

i have just started my own building company after working for my fathers company for 22 years and thought this would be a good way of getting work

My building suffered damage with a hail storm. The insurance company sent me a check made out to the mortgage company and to me. Now the Mortgage company is holding the funds and I can’t finish the repairs needed. My mortgage payments are up to date.

i want to buy a home but it is not fully built, it still needs someone to finish building it, so does anybody know of a good home building company here in southern california? thanks!!!

There was a fire in my building. According to the newspaper it was started by a grease fire, which spread to the surrounding units. 4 or 5 of the units have been condemned by inspectors me being 1 of the unlucky ones. According to legal aide my owners insurance company is not responsible for any of my loses due to the fire (that would be covered by renters insurance if I had any), However they are responsible for putting me up while my apartment is being renovated. My owner hasnt returned any calls and its been almost 2 weeks. I’ve been advised to find the name of his insurance co and talk to them myself. Does anyone know how i can find out who is his insurance provider? All help is appreciated & thanks in advance.

im trying to register my uk building company with insurance companies to carry out there repair claims, but am not sure how to go about contacting anybody or what the procedures are?
I have all the criteria needed insurance polices, fmb+constructionline registered. financially stable. And trading for over thirty years.
I just need a foot in the door but don’t know how?
